The Commercial Video Production Process: From Concept to Delivery
A great commercial looks effortless, but behind it is a clear process. Knowing the stages helps you give better feedback and avoid delays. Here is how a typical project runs.
Step 1: Discovery
We learn your brand, goals, audience and budget. We discuss where the film will run and what success looks like. A written brief or reference films speed this up.
Step 2: Pre-production
Concept, script, storyboard, shot list, locations, casting and scheduling. Decisions made here prevent expensive changes later.
Step 3: The shoot
The crew captures the film with intentional lighting, camera movement and sound. Good direction keeps the day efficient and the performances natural.
Step 4: Edit
Footage is selected, cut and shaped into a story. Music, sound design, graphics and subtitles are added. You review a first cut and send consolidated feedback.
Step 5: Colour grade
The final look is built shot by shot. Read more in what colour grading is.
Step 6: Delivery
You receive final files prepared for each platform: widescreen for web and TV, vertical for Reels and Stories, and any cut-downs you need.
How long does it take?
Timelines depend on complexity, but clear briefs, quick approvals and early decisions on locations and talent are what shorten them most.
